Gallery wall and where I've been . . .

Hello my friends. I wish there was more to share with you today. I have been sick with bronchitis and am trying to get back to "normal". Last week I didn't do a darn thing . . . except lay on the couch and think about the projects I wanted to work on.

I worked on the wall above the sofa right before getting sick. It's looked like this for a while and I wanted something new.

BEFORE . . .

I framed some maps and sheet music that has special meaning to me. The maps came from several school books that belonged to my Gramps and the sheet music was my Grams when she was taking piano lessons.

AFTER . . .

I love how it turned out and the special meaning it has for me.

I cherish the old books and papers that belonged to my grandparents. Right now my Gramps is terminally ill and won't be with us much longer. He is 89 and has lived a wonderful life . . .  but none of us are ready for him to go. I feel blessed to still have my grandparents and that my girls have their great-grandparents.

If I'm not around much that is why. The next week or so are going to be so difficult. Thanks for understanding!

I should never have said I was feeling better because today I feel much worse. Handyman Hubby and I have been sick for over a week. I can't tell you how much cough syrup, tissues and cough drops we've gone thru!  We are both sick of being sick!

Despite feeling really crappy, I want to share my Valentine's Day decor with you. This year I didn't purchase anything new. Mainly because I'm sick and didn't want to leave the house and shop!

I still love the mailboxes from last year. I jazzed them up with some ribbon and stickers.

I added more turquoise this year and love how it looks with the red!

My dollar store candle was wrapped in washi tape.

I also decorated my shelf in the hallway.

The little lovebirds art is just a piece of scrapbook paper that I framed.

Here is the washi tape wreath I made . . .

I just wrapped the tape around a styrofoam heart. Fitting the tape around the bends was tricky but the washi tape comes off easily so I could reposition it.

I wanted to work on a few more Valentine's Day crafts but that will have to wait until I feel better. Lately all  I've been doing is hanging out on the couch with this guy . . .

Have an awesome day!

Meal Plan Monday

What a week! We've all been sick with a nasty cold and I'm just now starting to feel a little bit better. Instead of decorating and organizing I've been sneezing and coughing. I'm sick of being sick!

Right before I caught this cold I worked on creating a gallery wall above the family room sofa. I love how it looks and a lot of the items have special meaning. I just need to edit the photos and then I'll share them with you.

Now onto my weekly meal plan . . . .

Toasted Ravioli, Salad

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken, Rice

Guest Bath

Hey my friends!

Let me introduce you to my Guest Bath or Half Bath as some people call it. It's the bathroom on the main floor with just a sink and toilet. You know, the bathroom we all try to keep clean just-in-case someone stops by unexpectedly.  : )

There was nothing wrong with it. However, I am so over the gold walls.

It's a very small room with no windows so it always felt dark and claustrophobic.

I bought a paint sample back in October and put some on the walls to see if I liked the color. Fast forward 3 months and the room was still gold.

You know where this is going don't you?
The week before Christmas amid shopping, wrapping, baking and total craziness I decide to paint the bathroom! Oh yes I did! Apparently I work better under pressure.

The walls are painted Gentle Tide (Glidden). It's an aqua-gray-blue color that I love! The mirror got a coat (or 4) of paint too.

I put the cream shelves back up and used what I already had to accessorize.

It's so much brighter now!

The only thing I purchased was a quart of paint! Amazing how paint can change the whole look of a room isn't it!

Have an awesome day!
